Stop! Do You Have 5 Minutes?
Let me tell you how 5 minutes a day changed my life.
But first, a little backstory.
There was a time when I was glued to the couch and couldn’t find an ounce of motivation to get moving. My body ached. I was carrying more weight than ever before. Anxiety and depression felt like constant companions, and everything seemed hard.
I know firsthand how difficult it can be to just start.
Determined to pull myself out of that funk, I decided to create a morning routine. I wanted to become one of those people who started their day feeling calm, energized, and intentional.
The idea of a complete morning makeover felt overwhelming, so I kept it simple.
Really simple.
I set my alarm a few minutes earlier and made one goal for myself: get out of bed and sit on the couch for five minutes before getting ready for work.
That’s it.
After a few weeks, five minutes turned into ten. Then ten turned into twenty.
Eventually, I was awake enough to start journaling. Then I added a few pages of reading—which felt shocking considering mornings and I had never exactly been friends.
And then came morning workouts.
Who was I?! 😆
Fast forward nearly two years, and I still wake up early. In fact, I now wake up about two hours before I need to leave for work.
Not because I have to.
Because I want to.
What started as five minutes became one of the most impactful changes I’ve ever made.
Never underestimate the power of five minutes.
Five minutes a day doesn’t sound like much, but over the course of a week, it adds up to 35 minutes dedicated entirely to yourself.
That’s 35 minutes you may have thought you didn’t have.
Small moments matter. Small habits matter. Small changes matter.
Because little by little, those five minutes can help create a life that feels brighter, healthier, and more like your own.
Around here, it’s not about perfect—it’s about brighter. 💛
